With Christmas just around the corner the Vetcall Team would like to wish you, your families and furry loved ones a very Merry Christmas, and best wishes for the year ahead.
Thanks for choosing us to take care of your pets and for the wonderful and trusting relationships we have shared. Some of you have been with us since we started up, much younger looking, back in December 2006 – 12 years ago!
To celebrate our past and take us into the future, in the last couple of months we have been working with our friends at Plato Creative to create the fresh new brand you see above. This month, we’ve launched our new website.
We love our new look, which makes it much easier to find the information you need…
Rest assured that we are still the same small dedicated team of familiar friendly faces that treat your pets like our own, and still ‘the vets your pet would call’
All the services you expect, from de-sexing to fixing broken bones, and some you might not, such as home visits for those times when difficult decisions need to be made
Pet drop offs – we can take care of your pet before and after their appointment, so you can get to work
Free dental check-ups, dental home-care advice and dental estimates if dental treatment is required
Free nutritional advice to get your pet in tip top shape
We'd love to see how your pets are enjoying the festive season. Go to our Facebook page www.facebook.com/Vetcall and send us a holiday snap of your pet and go into our draw to win ...
Thanks from Colin and myself to our wonderful nurses Kash, Lucy and Tessa who support us and make it a pleasure to come to work each day. We are lucky to have such a stable and experienced team behind us. A special thanks also to Drs Susanne Anderson and Ann Wood for so capably covering for us when we head away to recharge with the kids.
Colin and I attended the Wanaka Veterinary Conference in August and in February next year will attend a conference in Japan. It’s great to be able to keep up with the latest advances in veterinary medicine and surgery and to be able to incorporate this knowledge into the care we offer to your pets.
On the family front, the kids are growing up fast and life is busy with activities and practices! Colin and Luca have been learning to surf this year which has been a steep and fun learning curve for them to share. Both Luca and Erika are now playing the Cornet in the Woolston Brass Junior Band, and so instead of just being the taxi driver to and from practices, I decided to join them. I’ve started learning the Baritone Horn this year!
In April, Colin and I completed the Hawea Classic 97km Mountain Bike Ride. Fitting the training in was a challenge but worth the effort to be able to able to enjoy such remote and stunning scenery.
Our darling fur kid Flash is nearly 4 years old now and is our family pride and joy despite being quite a pest a lot of the time! Handsome and stealthy he is the king of the street, a voracious mouser and completely untrainable when it comes to keeping him off the kitchen bench. His Sure Flap pet door spends daytimes on lock mode to prevent him filling our house with his vermin carnage while we are out!
With the flea population ramping up now it’s getting warmer, remember to keep your pet up to date with their preventive treatment and avoid nasty itching and skin problems. Our old faithful and reliable product Revolution for Cats has been reformulated as Revolution Plus and has an added new active ingredient ensuring it is even more effective when you apply it each month. For those of you wanting longer acting flea treatment, Bravecto for cats will last for 3 months, and for dogs there are both 3 and 6-month Bravecto control options. Come and have a chat to us about what will suit you and your pet best.
