Clinic News, December 2013

Posted by on 4 December 2013

Seasons Greetings from the Vetcall Team. We hope you, your pet/s and family are well.

It’s hard to believe another year has flown by. We are please to report that the clinic renovations are now complete.  Earlier in the year we said goodbye to our orange exterior and welcomed a fresh modern new look. This was followed by the construction of purpose built dedicated dog and cat wards and a new operating theatre.  The separate cat and dog wards are quite unique, and will ensure your pet can relax while recuperating, without having to worry about one of their arch-nemeses in the cage next door! We would love to show you around when you next visit, or alternatively check out our Christchurch Animal Hospital Tour

We have had an amazing nursing team behind us this year, and would like to take this opportunity to thank Kash and Helen for their support, dedication and taking such great care of you – our valued client, and your pet/s.

On the home front our son Luca turns five this month and is very excited about going to school next year.  Erika has recently turned two and like her brother is becoming quite the chatterbox and is developing a great sense of humor.  We have been lucky to have regular vet locum support from Ann Wood and Susanne Anderson through the year and been able to enjoy some all important family time away from the clinic.

Free Micro-chip Promotion:

For a limited time all animals that complete a vaccination course (minimum of two vaccinations) will receive a free micro-chip.  This is a great opportunity if you have a new puppy or kitten, or an older pet whose vaccinations have lapsed and have not been micro-chipped.  Give us a call or check out our Christchurch Puppy and Kitten Free Micro-chip Promotion or our clinic Facebook page for more details.

Broadline - Revolutionary new combined worming and flea product for cats:

Finally a product has been developed which combines a complete worming treatment with excellent flea control in an easy to apply topical preparation.  Broadline is very economical and has already saved many of our clients and their cats from the dreaded worming tablet battle. We think it’s a no brainer. Ask us for more details.

Christmas Opening Hours:

We will be closing at 5.00pm on Tuesday 24th December and Tuesday 31st December and will be closed on the statutory holidays.  Our opening hours will otherwise be as normal.  The Afterhours Clinic will be open at all times that we are closed. If your pet is on a veterinary diet or medication please ensure you have enough on hand to see you through the times when we will be closed.

With the recent warmer weather the flea population is blooming so please remember to keep your pets up to date (for those of you using Revolution this is a monthly application, Frontline Plus should be applied 6 weekly on cats and 6-8 weekly in dogs.  Both products should be used year round).

For those of you intending to put your pet in a boarding facility over the holiday period please remember to get their vaccinations up to date in advance and avoid a last minute panic visit to the clinic or them being refused entry.

We would like to thank you for your loyalty and support throughout the year. We wish you, your family and pet/s a happy and safe Christmas and we look forward to taking care of your pet/s in 2014.

Claire and Colin and the Vetcall Team.
